Meal Search Tab
The Meal Search Tab is where you identify and control the ingredients currently in your kitchen and search for meals you can make. If a button is greyed out, this means that the function that button performs is unnecessary and, therefore, unavailable. If a key combination is given in parentheses (e.g. Alt+N), this means that you can hold down the 'Alt' key and press the 'n' key to cause that action to take place. Below is a screenshot of the Meal Search Tab:

Ingredients List
This list stores the ingredients that you normally keep in your kitchen. Highlight the ingredients you currently have by clicking on them. When you run out of an ingredient, be sure to unhighlight it by clicking it again. All changes to your ingredients are automatically saved. If you right-click an ingredient, you will get a menu with the following options:
New Ingredient Entry
Here is where you can enter new ingredients for your Ingredients List. Type in the new ingredient and either click on the Add Ingredient Button or press Enter on your keyboard. Note: Any new ingredients entered into the Meal Ingredients List while editing a meal are automatically added. You will rarely have to add ingredients to this list yourself.

Add Ingredient Button (Alt+A)
After typing an ingredient into the New Ingredient Entry, click this button to have the ingredient added to your Ingredients List. Ingredients that are already in your list will not be added a second time. Ingredients are case-insensitive (i.e. 'Apples' and 'apples' are identical).

Category Selector
Click on the arrow on the right-hand side of this box to cause a list of your categories to appear. Then, choose a category. All found meals that are filed under the selected category will appear in the Found Meals List. The special All category will cause all found meals to appear in the list.

Number of Found Meals
This simply displays the number of meals that were found in the category that is currently selected in the Category Selector.

Found Meals List
This contains the found meals which are filed under the category selected in the Category Selector. Double-click a meal or select a meal and click View Meal to view that meal in the Meal Control Tab.

Find Meals Button (Alt+M)
Click this to search for the meals you can make with the ingredients you currently have highlighted in the Ingredients List. When the search is completed, the total number of meals searched and found will be displayed at the bottom of the screen and the meals which are in the category selected in the Category Selector will be listed in the Found Meals List.

Search Progress
While a search is in progress, this will indicate the percentage of the search that is completed.

View Meal Button (Alt+V)
Click this button to view the currently selected meal in the Found Meals List in the Meal Control Tab. If you are currently editing a meal, you will be notified of this and the meal will not be viewed.

Choose For Me Button (Alt+C)
Click this button to have Discover-a-Dish select a random meal for you to make out of the meals currently listed in the Found Meals List.
